The Covid Cafe #6 At the Wayne Farmers Market

The Covid Cafe # 6

At the Wayne Farmer’s Market

For years I thought this was named for Bruce Wayne,

from the Main Line Waynes

the poultry place was paltry

most meats having moved

“busy since 6:30”

felt like a war time time

one out of my memory

wondered idly if Paula

had remembered to bring remembered to bring

our Delco Food Ration Coupons

It’s Covid Cafe time

social and anti-social distancing

all conversations by phone

or e-mail or tweet or-

what is this

new

world

like

new

war

like

with the(unseen)

enemy on our

shores

we had a lunch there

at the table

next to someone’s ghost

many ghosts were there

split a half good sandwich

water

tries to

untalk of Covid

did Charles Barkley really say

“I hope I don’t have Covid,

’cause I’d have to be around myself

all the time”

or did I just want him

to say it

hope he’s well and back talking…someplace

4

Driving home onaFridaythe13th

wondered if we would again in two weeks

or,

if not,

why we wouldn’t
