Someday Martin Luther King, Jr day

Someday Martin Luther King Jr Day

Someday

we will remember Colin Kaepernick

by a

day of shopping

and a baseball game

Someday

we will remember Mario Savio,

of the Berkeley Free Speech Movement,

by a choreographed assembly

by a scripted play

Someday,

we will remember

our Founding Fathers

by reading English Poets,

re-enacting 1066

Someday, someday in the soon,

we must return to the MLK

day of protest

day of freedom

day to

end

wars

Until we get

to year 2033

when

all beings are free

the word war is only used

in the past tense

in the past tense

and there is nothing left to protest

                       nothing right to protest

Then return to the day of service
