Dreamers #2-To Mike Dalton, Poet

Dreamers #2-To Mike Dalton, Poet

Epigram-One day I woke up with the thought that we’d both come to each other’s funerals unless we both dies at the same time, It made sense at three in the whiskey morning. Oddly, it makes sense now.

Do not live life so roughly
Do not love life so roughly
Do not expect people to love as you do
Do learn to bend, it will not break you
Do leave the excitements with the nights
Do not remember every single detail of every single love
every hurt
every single time the knives of the world
the knives of the world
barely missed
Do remember only the ones that were so exquisite
they were just to the
left of death
left of death
or the right of ecstasy
past ecstasy’s endurance
Aging is nothing
but a dreamer who travles past dispair
while still seeing the lights
not the industrsil lights

Note; At this time, Mike was living in a West Philly squat and we would drink together

and pass out together. We were artists, man.
