Aaron Fine Memorial Service

Yesterday was the Aaron Fine Memorial Service in his former house in Swarthmore.

Below are two Poems I wrote that were published in The Swarthmorean and which

he read and said he enjoyed.

Aaron Fine esq  1-16-23

In the time of Aaron Fine

It is a fine and dancy time
this time of Aaron Fine
the fire of words, the sound of bells,
even in Swarthmore who can tell
where goes the time of Aaron Fine

Twenty thirteen and what are the signs
for Dow for Jones what will we find
what changes now as never before
even in private Camelot aka Swarthmore
in this time of Aaron Fine

Is it a New Years Revolution time
should we look ahead should we look behind
and when and what will be new stores
new and daring or just as before
in this time of Aaron Fine

Trash to Treasure sale  Sunday, June 16th

Note; This is an annual event where the leavings o
College students are sold.  Sunday is $5 a bag day.

Standing in line with Aaron Fine

was here last year near  same time

still my mother’s depression era son she’d say

always prepare for a bankrupt day

My father never said collect collect collect

but his legends did in a way direct

In July of 38 he bought Action Comics #1

the first Superman. he was the middle son

The one to go to service, the others I don’t know

one died young the other well… time flows

when dad returned for his hidden cache

his mom was cleaning had thrown all away

Today bought CD’s blank &  poetry & songs

office filing things how could this be wrong

In the basement mags called Mad and True

with which I’m still not sure what to do

Did not buy records clothes or books

or other items that others took

I needed nothing which is to say

needing nothing I bought some of it today
