At the Philly Flower Show 3-11-11 #5
With my favorite blonde
wife mine
husband hers
wife mine husband hers
this is another time of our lives
at Philly Flower show
March 11, eleven
We walked, we shopped
we sat and talked of Swarthmore
whether the inn was out
We watched art in flowers
flowered art
flowers without art
flowers are art
especially the cacti
which we both love
cacti are catproof
cacti need little moisture
cacti endure
we try to also
we walked and talked
enjoyed each others being
said little, really

At the Philly Flower Show 3-11-11 #6 and final
These are times to be remembered
very rarely at the times
very rarely
Flowers and shopping stalls
and hoping stalls
couples young and old
Flowers and food
children with parents
with both or the one
Flowers and dreamers
of various ages, dreamings
some in memory of
nineteen thirty one
nineteen sixty one
nineteen ninety one
Center City, olde Swarthmore,
Camden back in the day
Chester some time ago
Jackson, Miss when young when young
I remember wandering
in many woods
before it became other
than the
uncleared
forest
who here
still has these memories
that you should not need
should not need
to enter concrete
or glass or brick
to see flowers, bushes, and trees
to see flowers, bushes, and trees
ah, I’m an old man
I’m an old man
who only knows
the uses of yesterday
who only knows
the uses of yesterday
and has not the
and has not the
vision for tomorrow
vision for —
