I Could of followed David; A Meditation

For David Koresh and Lamont B. Steptoe)

I could of followed David

if he had been in my vision

at certain razored times in my life

after I left college

before the healing began

(which still goes on)

I wanted an easy belief

after the sixties went

and I had dropped dropping acid

David could of had me

after Jannelle died

and I woke up to  a corpse in bed

having gone to sleep with a woman

special above words, photo, songs……

Damned if  I would of known any real thing

about revelations

but I would of known to follow

could  of lost my personal history

in a flash of false Godness or Godessness

would of had little to give up

would not of noticed the tiny amputations o

Only that I find it hard to follow

anyone not marked myself

and will not dance to other’s dreams

and am not loyally blind

or                 blindly loyal

to those who would be royal

only that saves me from a

I could of followed Lamont
